Hotel Residencial
lodge is located in El Valle de Anton just one and one
half
hours
from the hustle and bustle of Panama City. El Valle is in the crater
of a long extinct volcano that erupted millions of years ago. The
walls of the crater are now picturesque mountains that surround the
small village. El Valle has long been a favorite spot for residents
from Panama City to escape the rigors of city life for a peaceful
weekend or holiday in the cool highlands, escaping the heat and
humidity of the city. At 1000 meters above sea level El
Valle enjoys the distinct coolness of the highlands.
A well maintained, paved road to
El Valle was built in 1997 making brief tourist visits to the
peaceful hamlet possible. Both natural and man made attractions are
now available to the visitor to El Valle. There are beautiful water
falls, a mountain swimming spot and verdant forests filled with
beautiful birds for the visitor to enjoy plus a man made canopy ride
that provides a bird's eye view of the tropical forest.
A feature of El Valle is the
market that occurs each Sunday featuring foods, vegetables, flowers,
plants and exquisite handicrafts created by local artisans. These
same handicraft objects are available every day in David's Shop, a
part of Hotel Residencial.
A new bakery has opened in El
Valle featuring breads, rolls, coffee and pasteries. You can
buy the tasty products for your room, for a hike or for a trip on
the bus. A small cafe is attached where you can relax with friends
and enjoy the coffee and bakery products on the premises.
Hotel Residencial also features
Restaurant Mar de Plata that offers elegant servings of local
cuisine at local prices. Be sure to try the tasteful "hen's soup" to
be introduced to Panamanian cuisine at its best!
There are many exciting things to
do in El Valle, biking, hiking or horseback riding in the mountains,
viewing water falls or taking a dip in a mountain pool. Visit our "Activities"
page for more information. Bikes may be rented at the Hotel
Residencial.
Many visitors also enjoy the
beaches down the mountain from El Valle. It is only a 30 minute ride
from the beach to the cool altitudes of El Valle. You can enjoy the
beach during the day and retreat to the cool mountains for a
refreshing night's sleep.
Laundry service and a Laundromat
are available to the guests at Hotel Residencial. Inquire at the
desk for details.
Come visit us and enjoy the
scenic views and peace and comfort of El Valle!
